The Pit Bull who for many years played Pete the Pup in the Little Rascals movie series was actually born with only half a circle around his eye. Director Hal Roach hired a then-unknown artist to complete the circle. That painter, whose name was Max Factor, went on to become one of Hollywood's most celebrated makeup artists.
